Inflow / Outflow
Apa itu Inflow / Outflow?
Exchange inflow and outflow tracks the net direction of Bitcoin moving between exchange-controlled addresses and external ones. Net inflows mean more coins are arriving on exchanges (potential sell pressure), while net outflows mean coins are being withdrawn to self-custody, usually read as intent to hold. A live chart built on Coin Metrics community data is already available on this site's exchange inflow/outflow page.
Cara membacanya
The most common misuse is treating a single day's net flow as a directional signal. Exchange address labelling is never complete, internal hot/cold consolidation generates large movements unrelated to trading, and daily noise is severe. The reliable read is the cumulative trend over several weeks or more, with priority given to total exchange balance as a stock measure — a falling balance alongside rising price is the healthier structure, whereas a rising balance into a rally means coins are concentrating on exchanges and pullback risk is higher. The rise of custody and ETFs has also systematically shifted this metric's baseline.

Volume and market-structure metrics describe the size and distribution of trading activity. Methodologies differ sharply between venues (wash-trading filters, USD conversion), so confirm the accounting basis before comparing platforms side by side.
Status data
The live chart for this metric is still being wired up. Global volume, venue share and perp-vs-spot pages already carry real data.
