How to read it
Interest is relative (peak within the 12-month window = 100), not absolute volume. Spikes usually mean mainstream attention flooding in — historically tops coincided with search peaks while bottoms were quiet.

Sourced from Google Trends' public endpoint, refreshed daily. Weekly granularity, worldwide, keyword “bitcoin”. If the upstream rate-limits, the last successful fetch is shown.
Caveat
