About Cumulative Funding Fees
What are cumulative funding fees?
Perpetual contracts exchange periodic funding payments between longs and shorts. Summing all settled rates over a window gives the total funding cost (or income) of holding a position.
Why do exchanges differ for the same coin?
Each exchange computes funding from its own order book premium and interest rate, and settlement intervals differ (8h, 4h or 1h), so cumulative fees can diverge meaningfully.
How can traders use this table?
Carry traders pick the venue with the lowest funding cost for the long leg and the highest for the short leg; the spread itself can also be arbitraged.
