Exchange rankings exclude tokenized stock, index and ETF contracts to keep the crypto scope clean; they are listed separately in the Exchange Stock Perps view under the home page Stocks tab.

Open interest held across all 27 ranked exchanges totals $114.51B right now. We strip out equity-linked contracts ($4.20B per day) before ranking, keeping this table strictly crypto.

Binance tops the table with 29.9% of global volume, ahead of OKX (14.3%) and Bybit (8.5%) — the top three combine for 52.7%. On-chain venues account for 13.1% of all open interest in this ranking.

About Exchange Rankings

How are exchanges ranked?
Exchanges are ranked by 24-hour futures trading volume aggregated across all perpetual contracts we track on each venue. You can also sort by open interest, liquidations, listed contracts or weighted funding rate.
What is open interest and why does it matter?
Open interest (OI) is the total value of all outstanding futures positions on an exchange. Higher OI means more capital committed to the venue and usually deeper liquidity; sudden OI changes often precede volatility.
What does the weighted funding rate mean?
It is the average funding rate of USDT-margined perpetuals on the exchange, weighted by each contract's open interest. A positive value means longs pay shorts on the venue's dominant contracts.
Why do liquidation numbers differ between exchanges?
Exchanges throttle or sample their public liquidation feeds differently (for example some only push one order per second), so reported totals are a lower bound and are not perfectly comparable across venues.
Volume and open interest are aggregated from official exchange APIs for perpetual futures markets. Coverage of smaller venues may be partial; liquidation totals only include orders pushed via exchange liquidation feeds.
