About ETF Flows
What are spot Bitcoin / Ethereum ETF flows?
US spot BTC and ETH ETFs (such as BlackRock's IBIT, Fidelity's FBTC and Grayscale's GBTC) hold the underlying coins directly. Daily net flow measures how much new money entered (inflow) or left (outflow) these funds each trading day — a direct proxy for institutional and retail demand through traditional finance rails.
Why do ETF flows matter for price?
Every dollar flowing into a spot ETF forces the issuer to buy the underlying coin on the market, and outflows force selling. Sustained large inflows tighten supply and have historically supported price rallies, while streaks of outflows often accompany corrections. The cumulative flow line shows the long-term demand trend.
When is the data updated?
Issuers disclose creations and redemptions after each US trading session. CoinBoss aggregates these disclosures (via Farside Investors and other public sources) and updates the page daily, typically within hours after US market close. Weekends and US holidays have no data because ETFs do not trade.
What do TOTAL and AUM mean in the table?
TOTAL is the sum of all funds' net flows for that day — the market-wide net inflow/outflow. AUM (assets under management) is the total market value of coins held by all the ETFs, which moves with both flows and the underlying price.
Flow data is aggregated from public issuer disclosures (Farside Investors and other sources) and is typically finalized after US market close. Figures may be revised by issuers.
