About This Data: How Funding Rates Are Collected and Compared
You are viewing UBIK. The methodology below describes how this dataset is collected and computed for UBIK and every other coin covered on CoinBoss.
Where the data comes from
We pull real-time funding rates for perpetual futures from 25 exchanges via their public APIs, covering USDT-margined and coin-margined contracts. Because venues settle on different schedules — every 1, 4 or 8 hours — each rate on this page carries an explicit settlement-interval label.
What each number means
Current rate is the rate that will apply at the next settlement; predicted rate is the exchange's live estimate for the following one. The countdown shows time to next settlement. The matrix view lays out coins × exchanges so you can spot outliers at a glance, and the accumulated page sums rates over a chosen period. Positive funding means longs pay shorts; negative means shorts pay longs.
How it is calculated
Your funding payment = position notional × funding rate at settlement. To compare venues on different schedules we annualise: rate × (24 ÷ interval hours) × 365. Accumulated figures are simple sums of settled rates (no compounding). Each exchange computes its rate from its own premium index plus an interest component, so formulas differ slightly by venue — we display the exchange's official number, never a re-derivation.
How to read it
1. Persistently high positive funding (say above 0.1% per 8h) means longs are crowded and paying heavily to stay in; rallies built on that tend to be fragile.
2. Negative funding while price holds flat means shorts are paying — fuel for a squeeze if price starts rising.
3. A large gap between exchanges for the same coin is a funding-arbitrage setup: long on the negative venue, short on the positive one (see our FR Arbitrage page).
Common misconceptions
High funding is not a sell signal by itself — bull markets can sustain elevated funding for weeks.
Rates on different settlement intervals must never be compared raw: 0.03% per 4h is more expensive than 0.05% per 8h once annualised.
Limitations
Predicted rates are exchange estimates and can move until settlement. Formula parameters (premium index sampling, interest rate, clamps) vary by venue, so small cross-exchange differences are structural rather than tradable.
Updates & versioning
Rates update in real time as exchanges publish them; settlement schedules per venue are documented and versioned. Informational only — not investment advice.
