How to read spot Bitcoin ETF flows

This dashboard tracks daily net flows for the US spot Bitcoin ETFs: for each fund the table shows the day's net creations or redemptions in US dollar terms, alongside the running cumulative total and assets under management. Figures consolidate after each US trading day, and the most recent cell can remain blank until every issuer has reported, so an apparently missing number late in the day is a reporting lag rather than a zero.

Single-day totals are noisy. The complex is dominated by the two largest funds, and a quiet day can be swung by one fund's institutional order. Streaks are more informative than spikes: multi-day runs of net inflow or outflow have historically coincided with the strongest trending phases in the underlying price. Outflows from the converted trust products also deserve separate reading, since their higher fee structures drive rotation into cheaper funds that is neutral for the asset class as a whole.

Two accounting details keep the numbers honest. Creations settle with a lag, so today's reported flow reflects orders placed around the previous session's close, and the funds buy or sell coins around the NAV strike rather than at announcement time. Flows are also not pure demand: part of the inflow finances basis trades, in which a buyer holds ETF shares against short CME futures, exposure that is directionally neutral and shows up as leveraged-fund shorts in the CFTC data.

For context, pair this page with the open interest and long-short data on CoinBoss to see whether ETF demand is being met by leveraged selling, and with the Hong Kong ETF flows page for the Asian session's read on the same asset.
